creative space lech

curious

curious is not a traditional gallery. It is a new and vibrant space for art, creativity, and design in the heart of Lech am Arlberg – a place that raises questions, opens perspectives, and invites visitors to discover new artistic viewpoints.

Located on the ground floor of the Lechwelten building, curious offers a dynamic platform for rotating exhibitions and pop-up formats, bringing together international artists and regional voices. The concept moves beyond the classic white-cube approach, creating a space in which art is experienced rather than simply viewed – immersive, inspiring, and constantly evolving.

Open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Mon - Sat) & 12:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Sun), curious welcomes you to dive into a newly created world of contemporary alpine creativity.
All artworks are available for purchase, with assistance and worldwide shipping available.

Point of Perception

This group exhibition brings together five artistic positions - Heinrich Bobst, Christian Herdeg, Sun Rae Kim, Dirk Salz and Martha Scheeren, who approach art as a space of perception. Despite working across different media, materials, and generations, they share a common attitude: light, color, and material do not represent meaning, but unfold as autonomous phenomena through the act of seeing. The works move between painting, sculpture, and light-based practices, defining perception as an open process. Space is not treated as a neutral backdrop, but as an active element of the works. What becomes visible depends on viewpoint, movement, and duration. Seeing turns into a physical, situational experience. Meaning emerges through the interaction of artwork, space, and viewer — shaped by time, attention, and light. The exhibition invites a slower, more attentive way of looking. Perception is not presented as a given, but as an active act in which reality continuously unfolds.

Stefan Sagmeister

The Bright Side

curious launched its inaugural show with The Bright Side (17.12.2025 - 25.01.2026) by internationally acclaimed designer and visual artist Stefan Sagmeister. Sagmeister dedicates this series to an unusual question:

What if the world today is better than we think?

Presented in collaboration with Galerie Maximilian Hutz and Helena Ponier (Studio Ponier).

Based on extensive datasets, the exhibition creates striking visual works that examine progress, social developments, and the importance of looking at history through a long-term lens. Sagmeister’s art blends design, research, and optimistic storytelling into a powerful reflection on present and future.
